A subscriber can subscribe to data from one or more publishers.

 

The master sends a Set_Parameter telegram with an appropriate subscriber table indicating the publisher to which the subscriber should subscribe.

 

This function is rather comprehensive to implement and is mainly used with intelligent slaves (e.g. controllers or drives).

 

The ability of a DP slave to work as a subscriber is shown in the GSD file with the key word

 

Subscriber_supp = 1

 

For this purpose, GSD syntax revision 4 is a minimum requirement as well as the support of DP-V1 parameters.
