To allow proper insertion of the cable into a standard plug, the outside diameter of the cable sheath should measure 8.0 +/- 0.5 mm.
There are different forms of this type A cable:
•Standard PROFIBUS cable with solid conductor
•Cable with special sheaths for food production and the chemical industry
•Cable with an additional sheath for laying directly underground
•Flexible cable for moving machine parts
