Cyclic data exchange

As soon as the DP slave reaches the data exchange state DXCH, the class 1 DP master (the controller) sends output data cyclically and expects input data in response from the DP slave:

A variety of events may occur:

•The DP master also has an operating state and can change it.

•The DP master can use SYNC and FREEZE commands to control data processing in the DP slave.

•The cycle of data transmission can be synchronized.

•The DP slaves can signal diagnostic messages.
