Inter-station services

Ident: With this optional service, FMA 1/2 users can receive data on hardware and software versions. As an active bus user, it is possible to query the identity of all stations connected to the network. As a passive bus user, polling is restricted to the individual station itself. This service is rarely supported in today's devices.

LSAP Status: This optional service can only be used by active stations. It allows them to obtain information about the configuration of another network station's SAP for FDL services (e. g. SDA, SRD, ...).

Live-List: With this optional service the user receives a list of all accessible bus users. This list is drawn up in the FDL layer, which generates a 'request-FDL-Status with Reply' for every possible user address. Since all possible addresses are polled, instead of just receiving a list of active stations ( LAS), a full list of active and passive users is provided.
