The two conductors in the cable transmit the signals: “Data line plus” (B conductor) and “Data line minus” (A conductor). They are coloured red or green and must not be confused.
The shield must be applied to a large surface at both cable ends. For connection of the shielding it is advisable to use the plug's screw joint. In current versions of the standards, pin 5 is no longer connected to the shield.
