Before a DP slave goes into the DXCHG it waits for a specific sequence of telegrams from a DP master:

The sequence of telegrams is:

1.Get diagnostics Response enables the controller to detect whether the DP slave is present. This request will be repeated until the DP slave responds.

2.Set Parameters Request  is used to transfer the initial parameters from the controller to the slave.

3.The Check Config Request telegram checks that the configuration is correct.

4.A further Get Diagnostics Response enables the controller to check whether the slave has now been correctly initialized and is ready to exchange data.

5.We are now in cyclic Data Exchange. The controller sends the output data and receives input data in return.
