Simple repeater

A simple repeater connects two segments:

The products illustrated below have electrical isolation and signal regeneration, allowing up to 9 or more repeaters to be switched in series.

These repeaters have a D-type connector for diagnostic purposes, which does not mean they have their own segment! With the products shown here, the diagnostic plug is connected to segment 1. It is therefore logical for diagnosis to connect segment 2 in the direction of the master and use segment 1 with the diagnostic connector for an additional segment. This allows the diagnostic connector on the repeater to be used for signal checking, e.g. with ProfiTrace.
